Carl married Gertraudt Alspach about 1785. Gertraudt was born in 1763. She died in Apr 1852.
On May 4, 1852, the goods of Gertraudt's estate were sold. Son Frederich bought a hefer, stove and pipes, needles and scarfs. Grandson Charles, bought bedding and linens. Another grandson, Gideon Nothstein, also bought linens, baskets, tubs, etc. Other relatives and friends bought cloth, books, iron kettles and pots, a two-hour clock, kitchen items and dishes, and a cow. Presumably, Gertraudt is buried with her husband, but there is no gravestone.
Gertraut married Carl Otto Steigerwalt, son of Johann Frederic Steigerwalt and Catherine Heuser, about 1785.65 (Carl Otto Steigerwalt was born on May 6, 1760 in Floersback, Hesse, Hanau, Germany,470,471 died about 1822 in Ben Salem Church Cemetery, East Penn Twp, Carbon Co, Pennsylvania 470 and was buried in Ben Salem Church Cemetery, East Penn Twp, Carbon Co, Pennsylvania 470.)
